The Art of Adorning / Annual Bead Bazaar

Always on the 4th Saturday in April - 10 AM until 4 PM

The Bead Society of Orange County hosts an annual Bead Bazaar each spring. This event highlights creators, importers and distributors of historic and contemporary beads along with hand made adornment, fabrics, buttons and artifacts. The Bead Bazaar is free to the general public and is held on-site at the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art.

Featured Bead Bazaar Vendor
Nooria Farhad, Nomad Style

Nomad Style is the largest importer of Afghan textiles, nomad crafts from Afghanistan, Afghan classic fashions, ethnic fabrics, embroideries and one of a kind dresses from Afghanistan on the West Coast, USA. Nooria also designs wedding (nikah) dresses inspired by the styles of Afghanistan as well as one of a kind dresses for special occasions using only the finest Indian and Thai silk, and authentic embroideries of the Pashtun, Baluch (Beluchi), Uzbek, Turkoman and Hazara peoples of Afghanistan.

Nooria considers herself a guardian of the classic tribal culture of Afghanistan and South Asia and collects hard to find tribal and hard to find ethnographic items. She then restores and cleans them and offers them to collectors and Afghan and western women of sophistication and good taste at reasonable prices.

Be sure to visit Nomad Style, as well as the rest of our Bead Bazaar vendors.
