Workshop Schedule for 2012

Reservations are necessary and these workshops do fill up! Samples of the projects are available at our general membership meetings. BSOC members get first priority with workshop registration. Non members are invited only if there is available space. If you cannot register for a workshop at a meeting, then by all means, email Sandy Hefnider.

Most of the time, the workshop does require that you bring your own supplies.Also, some workshops may have a materials fee in addition to the cost of registration.

January 28, 2012 Chinese Cinnabar Woven Pendant with Sandy Hefnider


Learn to create a circular woven beaded pendant, using a Chinese carved bead as the center focus of the design inspired by the Asian exhibits in the museum. Needle and thread off-loom beading techniques will be presented. It can be used as a pendant to add to a necklace or pin. And, with a smaller size bead, a pair of earrings can be made.

Supplies List:
Sandy will be making a kit available. The kit materials fee will be $10.00.
If a participant wishes to bring own supplies, the Supply List includes:
1 Red Round Cinnabar bead - 32mm
Black seed beads - 11/0
Black round beads - 5-6 mm (7-10 beads)
Beadalon Dandyline woven thread - .008 - black - approx. 4-5 yds.
Beadalon Collapsible Eye Needle - Medium (2)
Everyone should bring - Scissors and Optional - Magnifying Glasses
